Development
New Nurses' Station
In late October construction began on the new Nurses’ Station/Housing for SLCC. It has 3 bedrooms,1 1/2 baths, kitchen and living room. It is a 46 x 24 foot building and has 1,104 feet of living space. It will be a very nice addition to our facilities here. Since it is on ground level those who are handicapped will have easy access to it. This building is replacing the two old mobile homes that were between the Worship Center and the Dining Hall that were used for housing and the Nurses’ Station. Sidewalks leading up to the new building along with beautiful landscaping will grace this valuable addition to the camp.
We are still in need of about $20,000 to finish this project and any help would be greatly appreciated.
Other Projects
Upon completion to the Nurses’ Station, we will continue to pour sidewalk from the Lodges across the parking lot to County Rd E. We will also be upgrading 32 campsites to 30 amp service for the bigger trailers that use our camping facilities. This will be done before Family Camp. In the fall we hope to start remodeling Joy Hall. It is a meeting room that needs a face-lift to make it more user friendly for our guests.
